On The Road
This sign is for my dad. Remember the great hotel experience we had here 14 years ago when you were helping Trevor and I move to Vegas? Seriously, I've been to foreign 3rd world countries who have better hotels- This was the worst one I have EVER stayed at.
We are finally on the road. We left at 6 am and finally got into Ogden, Ut (about 20 minutes outside Salt Lake City) at 6:30 at night. Our first stop was 45 minutes into the trip for a quick rest stop. I can't even blame the kids. It was me. Too much Spark. There was only one serious reprimand. From me. But it was directed at Trevor, who was driving 75 mph down the freeway updating his Facebook. His wife was not happy.
The kids were amazing troopers. We stopped at a couple rest stops and for about 2 hours we had a picnic at Three Island Crossing State Park (where the pioneers crossed the Snake) Anyhow, it was kind of fun. The kids were so sweet. Caleb kept saying "Mom this is just been the best day!" and I'm thinking, "All we've done is sit in a car for 8 hours, I need to take these kids out more often.". And Maggie said after lunch "If we go home now, it still would have been a great vacation." Trevor said "Well, let's go home then" and Maggie replied "Dad, that was just a figure of speech." Even Sam did great. I just kept throwing food back at the kids.
